Your privacy is sacred to us. This policy explains how we handle your data in the Mirror app.

This privacy policy ("Policy") describes how Evolve Web Apps LTD ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information of users of the Mirror mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways to provide and improve our service to you:

a) Audio Recordings (For Dream Transcription)

The core feature of our App allows you to record your dreams using your device's microphone. We are committed to handling this sensitive data with the utmost care:

  • Local Recording: The audio is first recorded and stored locally on your device.
  • Server Processing: To provide you with a high-quality text transcription of your dream, this local audio file is securely uploaded to our server for processing. Our server uses an automated speech-to-text engine to extract the text.
  • Immediate Deletion: The original audio file is immediately and permanently deleted from our server as soon as the text transcription is complete. We do not store your audio files. We do this for two main reasons: (1) audio files require a large amount of storage, and (2) we fundamentally do not want to hold any more of your sensitive information than is absolutely necessary to provide the service.

b) Dream Data (Text Content)

We store the transcribed text of your dreams, along with any titles or notes you add, in our secure database. This allows us to provide you with a key feature:

  • Cloud Backup & Sync: By storing your text-based dreams, you can securely log in to your account (e.g., via Google, Apple, or email) and retrieve your dream journal even if you lose or change your phone.
  • User Control: You are in full control of this data. When you delete a dream from within the App, it is also permanently deleted from our server.

c) Information You Provide and Data Collected Automatically

  • Personal Data: When you create an account, we collect the personal information you provide directly, such as your email address and name (if provided) to manage your account and respond to inquiries.
  • Payment Information: When you make in-app purchases (like credit packs), we do not collect or store your credit/debit card details. All payments are processed securely through third-party payment processors (Google Play). We only receive a confirmation of your purchase.
  • Device and Usage Data: We use standard third-party services like Firebase Analytics, which may automatically collect technical data about your mobile device (such as device type, operating system, and anonymous identifiers) and information about how you use our App (features you access, duration of usage, and crash reports) to help us fix bugs and improve functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the core functionality of the App (such as audio transcription and cloud backup).
  • To improve, personalize, and expand our App.
  • To understand and analyze how you use our App and to fix bugs.
  • To communicate with you for customer service, to provide you with updates, and for other informational purposes.
  • To process your transactions (e.g., in-app purchases).
  • For Marketing (with Your Consent): If you opt-in, we may use your email address to send you promotional messages about new features or offers. You can opt out at any time.
  • To Comply with Legal Obligations: We may use your data to comply with legal requirements, such as responding to lawful requests from public authorities.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK, we process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:

  • Performance of a Contract: We process your data (like your dream text and account info) to provide the services you requested, such as the cloud backup of your dream journal.
  • Legitimate Interests: We process data (like usage analytics) for our legitimate business interests, such as improving the App, ensuring security, and fixing bugs, provided this does not outweigh your rights.
  • Consent: We will ask for your explicit consent to process data for certain purposes, such as sending marketing communications. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Compliance with Legal Obligations: We may process your data to comply with legal requirements, such as tax reporting for in-app purchases.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our App, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. These include:

  • Firebase (Google): Used for secure authentication, cloud database storage (for your text dreams), and analytics.
  • Google Play Services: Used to process in-app payments.

We may also release information when its release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property, or safety.

5. Data Transfer Outside the EU

Our company is based in the United Kingdom. However, to provide our services, we use partners (like Firebase) that may be located outside the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), such as in the United States. When we transfer your personal data to these countries, we ensure it is protected in compliance with applicable data protection laws (like the GDPR) by relying on Standard Contractual Clauses or other appropriate safeguards.

6. Use of Cookies and Other Trackers

Our App uses technologies, such as those provided by Firebase Analytics, to collect usage data. These tools help us understand how users interact with the App so we can improve it. 7. Data Security

The security of your data is important to us. We implement a range of technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:

However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required by law (e.g., for tax and financial auditing purposes).

  • Audio Recordings: As stated above, your audio recordings are not retained and are deleted immediately after transcription.
  • Text Dreams: We retain your text-based dream data for as long as your account is active to provide you with the cloud backup service. If you delete a dream, it is also deleted from our servers.

9. Your Data Protection Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (like UK/GDPR), you have the following rights:

  • Access: You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Rectification: You have the right to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data we hold about you.
  • Erasure: You can request the deletion of your data. As noted, you can delete your dream data directly within the app at any time.
  • Restriction of Processing: You can request that we limit how we process your data in certain situations.
  • Objection to Processing: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, especially for marketing purposes.
  • Data Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format to transfer it to another service.

10. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
